Day 1, Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009
Arriving in Denpasar on the island of Bali.
Transferring to Ubud by taxi (about 40 min). Ubud is the cultural center in
Bali, home of many local and international artists. Welcome Dinner and sharing of logistics and schedule. And celebrating YOU made it for this enchanted journey to honor the adventurous woman you are!
Day 2, Thursday, Nov. 5th,2009
After a well-deserved beauty sleep, we gather in the morning to open the circle and get to know each other. Lunch and dinner on your own to sample the culinary delights of Bali. Afternoon shopping for our traditional Balinese dress called a Kabaya for
visiting the temples and participating in ceremonies. No worries, we will guide you on this shopping adventure and teach you how to dress locally.
We gather again around 5pm for a dip in the swimming pool to relax and connect. Perfect time to travel inward after a busy shopping spree. Evening time off. For those who need to catch up with jet lag or need some private space - this is the time and for those who still have energy we suggest the near-by "Jazz Cafe" where you can dance till you drop into your bed.
"This has been a most special journey. Unique delightful and full of magic."
- Mary, Bali
Day 3, Friday, Nov. 6, 2009
A day of pampering ourselves with a traditional Javanese health and beauty
treatment. Choose between a Lulur or spice bath or a Balinese Boreh. This
treatment is a centuries old recipe using pure and simple herbs and spices,
which are designed to increase the blood circulation and ease aches and pains.
Or enjoy a one hour massage where afterwards your body is scrubbed with lulur to
remove dead skin. Relax in soaking aromatic flowers and slowly sip a spicy
ginger tea.
For the evening get dressed for a Kecak Dance which
involves a chorus of at least 50 men. They sit in concentric circles around an
oil lamp and begin to chant. The sound they make is “cak-cak-cak-cak-“, up to
seven different rhythmical combinations of the chant are interwoven, creating a
tapestry of vocal sounds as the musical accompaniment to the dance. This fiery
trance dance will be a special ritual/ceremony for your journey.
Day 4, Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009
Traveling from Ubud through lush green rice terraces via Tampaksering, to the East side of Bali. We will visit one of the most beautiful
valleys leading to a Hindu Temple surrounded by Buddhist monk caves. Afternoon resting, swimming, reading, eating, sharing, free time to enjoy the magical new surroundings. In the evening we gather for a sacred circle.
"Words are not enough to express my gratitude for the opportunity you have
provided. It has been both life changing and heart opening experience."
- Greta, Texas
Day 5, Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009
Morning at the Water Palace for a ritual and lunch. Dressed in our Kabaya's we will
visit a Sacred Balinese Tantric Temple, headed by a high priestess. It is rare
that a priestess is in charge of the temple, mostly men are holding this
position. This will be a special offering ceremony. An evening with great food and receiving each others "gifts". Share YOUR knowldge with the sisterhood.
Day 6, Monday, Nov. 9, 2009
A day of play at a picture perfect white sand beach. We swim, drink fresh
coconut milk, relax, and enjoy each other’s company; and practice the language
of the heart. Let your mind wander and submerge into this blue-green ocean that will carry your body to sensual hights. A special surprise in the evening will await us when the sun sets. Get ready to immerse yourself into the culture of Bali at its best.
Day 7, Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009
Have you ever imagined sitting in a small river raft, floating through the amazing green vally of sacred Bali? The excitement catches our breath when the raft goes over the edge and only surrender is the key to ecstasy. This river rafting adventure is always considered a high point in every retreat and your inner "man" is awakend.
A delicious farewell dinner will top everything off and let you know, a part of your heart and soul will be forever lost..... in East Bali at a magical place where only a few find the key to enter.
"The richness of the Bali environment, especially Tirtagangga was the setting
for a feast for Body, Mind, Emotion and Spirit."
- Joan, Maui
Day 8, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009
Traveling back to Ubud, via Klungkung where we will visit the Hall of Justice
and the famous market known for its exquisite rare fabrics. (Most of the fabrics in my home in Maui come from this place.... and of course, best prices). Back in Ubud, we will enjoy
the artistic abundance and ground our spirit back into the worldly domain. One
more celebration of our bodies with the luxurious offering of water, flowers and
delicious oils. Yeah, by then you will be addicted to the loving hands of a sweet Balinese masseuse.
Day 9, Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009
Closing Circle after Breakfast. Kutira and Sohana will share some of their favorite places to shop and eat. The place in Ubud is perfect to extend your stay and some of you may want to continue the journey for a few more days.
